Anne Schwartz
This is Anne’s (she/her/hers) 16th year teaching Kindergarten at CBI. She can say with certainty, that spending days in the company of 5 & 6-year-olds is a learning experience like no other (especially in a forest!). Anne's approach to Forest School is inspired by a quote from Maya Angelou: "This is a wonderful day. I've never seen this one before."
Anne has a B.A. in English and a Master of Arts in Teaching. She taught elementary and middle school and directed adult literacy programs. She volunteered in the Charlottesville City Schools as a PTO President, Book Buddy, and ESL classroom assistant.
Anne raised her 3 kids in Charlottesville where they attended City schools and CBI Religious School. Though her children are now older (32, 29, 25), she still remembers what it felt like to parent a Kindergartener. In her spare time, Anne loves to play her guitar and sing, paddle in her inflatable kayak, walk, and play wooden spoons.
