Emily grew up in upstate New York and lived in the DC area until moving to Charlottesville 4 years ago.

Emily holds a Ph.D. in applied and educational theatre from the University of Maryland and a BA in music and theatre from Susquehanna University.

Before CBI, Emily taught kindergarten as a classroom teacher as well as theatre and performing arts with students from preschool to college and beyond. She is thrilled to lead CBI Forest School in the arts and Social Studies.
